Corrugated Draft Excluder Inspiration
This pattern is designed out of necessity and a desire to keep warm, while creating something that suits my style in my home.
Once you consider the rising cost heating, and the need to prevent expensive heat being lost, stopping those drafts is a surefire way to keep our homes toasty.
Like many people, I don’t have my hallway carpeted – you can see the stunning wooden floors that feature in my 1930’s home, and I don’t want to cover that up. However, we also have a cellar, and the air that comes from under this door way can be very cold.
I wanted to create a draft excluder that would be long enough to stretch just beyond the door jam, blocking more of that cooler air, and help prevent those drafts.
Yarn Inspiration
The yarn I used for this pattern was kindly gifted by FurlsCrochet.com as part of the Furls Blog Hop 2024. You can find all the designers and view their patterns created for the event by clicking here.
I am a huge fan of their Wander Acrylic and have been lucky enough to feature in their blog hops before. As this yarn is a Worsted/Aran weight yarn, it lends itself so well to those cooler weather projects. I have a number of designs that have used this yarn, including the Perfect Pairs Pocket shawl, Linen Spike Shawl, and the Bold Bobbles Triangle Shawl,
If you’ve never used this yarn before, you will notice the gorgeous sheen that it features that is buttery soft. You can read my full review from when I first used the yarn by clicking here.
