How I Make a Pot of Tea
I wanted to share with you how I make a pot of English Breakfast tea:
- Warm the pot with boiling water from the kettle
- Refill the kettle with new fresh water and boil again
- Optional – Select your favourite biscuits and/cake and plate them – take them to the table and resist a sneaky bite!
- Set the table with a small milk jug and a sugar bowl along with teaspoons for everyone plus 1 for the sugar pot.
- Once the kettle has boiled, discard the water that warmed the teapot
- Insert teabags (3-4 teabags for a 6 cup teapot) or loose leaf tea (3-4 teaspoons) into the pot
- Pour over the boiling water
- Replace the lid
- Cover the teapot with your choice of teapot cosy!
- Carry to the table – but not by the handle! Support the bottom of the pot
- Leave to brew for 3-4 minutes before pouring
- Always serve the person who likes the weakest tea first!
It’s quite something to see all the steps written down but, it was my motivation to design the Honey & Crumpets Tea & Coffee Set which this easy crochet teapot cozy features! Easy to make and a simple design to make teatime extra special!
