Elizabeth Stitch Beanie Pattern

I am a huge fan of the chunky yarn this quick crochet project uses to create a textured crochet hat. The mini bean stitch which is also known as the Elizabeth stitch creates a super textured fabric without using lots of yarn unlike many other textured crochet stitches. The Elizabeth stitch works up so quickly that you’ll have your Beautiful Beans Beanie completed in an hour!

I originally designed the Beautiful Beans Beanie to be part of a collection of finished products that I would sell at craft fairs in 2020. The collection features a matching infinity scarf and fingerless gloves and they all proved popular at the fairs I was able to participate in along with my Etsy shop too!

The Beautiful Beans Beanie is such a quick and easy crochet project that it’s perfect for gift giving, making for craft fairs and charity giving too!

The beanie is worked in the round and is a no-sew crochet project too!

Pattern Notes:

  • Whatever your skill level with crochet, I would always recommend reading through this pattern before beginning. Get in touch if you need any help completing the pattern.
  • Ribbing section is worked first, in rows and joined with a slip stitch. The hat section is worked in the round, turning after joining to create the unique fabric of the Mini Bean Stitch.
  • I would recommend placing a stitch marker in to the first chain made after the 1st Bean Stitch to help identify where to join the rounds.
